In Helgeland, the local speedboats are known as ”the metro”. Hop on to experience the original main road between Bodø and Sandnessjøen. Norwegian Scenic Route Helgelandskysten is part of National Cycle Route 1, which runs along the entire coast of Norway. Generally speaking, Helgeland refers to the part of Nordland county that is located south of the Arctic Circle . It is bordered in the north by the Saltfjellet mountains and Svartisen glacier, which form a natural border with the Salten district.
